British Business Club Düsseldorf
Portuguese Wine & Food Evening
Invitation to a Portuguese Wine & Food Evening at 19.00 on Friday 6 October
The British Business Club Düsseldorf cordially invites you to an evening entitled Reynolds: A British Family in Portugal and Mouchão, hosted by Carlos Quintas at his Portuguese wine cellar at Gewölbekeller 1641, Alte Stadt 6- 8, 40213 Düsseldorf. There will be a selection of Portuguese white wines, including Quinta dos Roques Encruzado, Paço da Palmeira, Luís Pato Vinhas Velha, Vinha Formal, combined with Bacalhau Espiritual (cod with cream).
The core of the tasting will be four red Mouchão wines from 1990, 1996, 1999 and 2000. They will be accompanied by roast veal with mint aromas. Mouchão is the origin of the Alicante Bouschet grape in Portugal. The Reynolds family bought a Portuguese property in 1901, mainly for its cork business, and introduced this grape variety to Portugal from Bordeaux. There will also be a selection of two modern Alicante Bouschet wines, with 10-12 wines to taste in total during the evening.
The cost for the wine and dinner will be EUR 53 per BBCD member with one guest allowed per member at a cost of EUR 65. There are only 16 places available, but we hope to hold another similar event in January. If you wish to attend, please email Brian Hicks at: [email protected], with a copy to [email protected]
If you require an invoice, please email the BBCD treasurer, Paul Stheeman: [email protected]
