Meghan and Monika were chosen as finalists for an upcoming competition with the cultural society Ars-Augusta e.V. which will hold the First International Lied-Competition “Bolko von Hochberg” at the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater in Görlitz-Zgorzelec from March 21nd to 25th, 2021. Bolko von Hochberg (1843-1926), composer and impressario, is strongly connected with the history of the European city Görlitz-Zgorzelec, right on the border between Germany and Poland on the edge between Bohemia, Saxony and Silesia. His love for the human voice and his belief in the power of music to unite European nations gave the organisation the idea to dedicate the international competition for Lied singing to him with the purpose to promote new talents and also rediscover the hidden treasures in the repertoire of the most beautiful small musical form: the artistic song (Lied).
